Ormos Tartısık West Phase
Ayvacık, Çanakkale
Ormos Tartisik is a housing project located in Canakkale Ayvacık in the Northern Aegean, taking its name from the Tartisik village where it is situated. Tartisik village is a village of approximately 15 households, in the northeast of Ayvacık district center. The project continues in stages. The first of these, the West Phase, consists of four detached houses.
The houses stand out with their natural stone facades and details obtained by simplifying and reinterpreting local architectural elements. The floor-to-ceiling windows between the plastered floor moldings dividing the natural stone facade surfaces enable a controlled relationship between the interior and exterior. Pergolas with steel columns and thatch tops added to the front of the houses and continuing along the front facade make outdoor use easier. The village-style oven and open kitchen counter in the garden further enrich this use. The feeling of simplicity, naturalness and rawness on the facades is also continued in the interior thanks to the marble used in the stairs and fireplace, the moiré ceramics on the floor and the exposed concrete ceiling with wooden mold traces.
Ormos Tartisik is a project that aims to bring together the housing typology that has existed in the region for centuries with current needs and design approach… Simple, natural, belonging to the place, nothing more, nothing less…
